I hope you and your family are having a great summer. The faculty, staff, and I are looking forward to having you with us for an exceptional school year. To prepare for the year and to be ready to begin our instructional program immediately when school opens, we have a pre-registration period when students:
Note the times and dates for pre-registration below. You will be pre-registered only during your assigned time. Parents may register for students who are out of town during the designated registration time. Students not pre-registered will receive schedules on the first day of school. Students who owe money for textbooks or who need to submit proof of immunizations will not be allowed to check out books until all records are cleared and immunization records are updated.

HSPVA Time Schedule:Tardy time at HSPVA is 7:55 AM and dismissal time is 3:35PM. This is a change from last year! First period begins five minutes later and we dismiss five minutes later this year to help coordinate HISD bus schedules and to improve first period on-time performance. Since HSPVA is "Bell Free" (no bells are rung during the school day), it is each individual's responsibility to be on time to all classes and events. It is recommended that students wear watches. Radio controlled clocks around the school are HSPVA's official time-keepers.
Parking: HSPVA campus parking is by permit only. Student spaces are limited. Parking permits will be sold to seniors for ten dollars on a first-come, first-served basis. Permits remaining after senior pre-registration will be sold to junior students. Cars parked in school parking lots without parking permits will be towed.
Lockers: Bring a combination lock to put on your assigned locker. Lockers will be issued at registration. Your locker number and lock combination will be kept on file in the office.
Buses: Information on your bus route (pick-up time, and location) will be mailed to your home by the HISD Transportation Department prior to the opening day of school.
Advance yearbook sales: Yearbook staff members will be in the Commons Monday and Tuesday August 7 and 8, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. taking orders for the 2006-07 Yearbook. Synergy 2006-07 will sell for $65.00 at pre-registration and $68.00 thereafter. Bring checks made out to HSPVA to reserve your book.
Synergy 2005-06 will be available for pick-up at registration for students who ordered it.
Fall open house will be hosted Tuesday night September 5th at 7:00 P.M. Please mark your calendar. A school calendar is up on the web site for your convenience.
