Why Join the PTO

The PTO is the main support organization for HSPVA.  By joining the PTO, you commit with other parents to provide the necessary help and support to the school in a variety of ways. These include:

• Informing the membership of the PTO and the general public of school activities, both in the academic and art areas. To this end, the PTO publishes a newsletter three times during the school year. You may access the most recent newsletter by selecting this link.
• Operating the school store, a major fund-raising vehicle of the PTO. Proceeds from the sales of school store items are distributed annually to each art area to purchase needed items, such as musical instruments, dance flooring, lighting, and various supplies.
• Providing volunteer help to the school, such as assisting in the library during lunch, maintaining landscaping, and staffing the school store.
• Publishing the school directory, available free with membership in the PTO.
• Supporting teachers and staff through appreciation events, such as breakfasts, luncheons, coffee/dessert bars, etc.
• The PTO also provides monetary gifts to each department for program enhancement.
• Sponsoring informative programs, such as College Night, for the HSPVA community during the school year.

Without your financial and personal support, none of these is possible. Joining the PTO is easy. Membership is available at several levels, starting at just $25. Membership Form.
